The WGDS at the University of Guelph

During the fall semester of 2011, the WGDS was invited to present the 4-Pillars model to a class of 200 Criminology students at the University of Guelph.  Presentations on Enforcement and Justice, Prevention, Harm Reduction and Treatment were made in panel format over a five week period. Following the Treatment panel, which involved residents from our local Stonehenge and Portage residential programs, a student wrote:

Just wanted to thank you for the speakers we had in class tonight.  They were incredible individuals who really inspired me and I could connect so well to them with some personal experiences…. It gave me a lot of inspiration and enlightened me to all of the possibilities for those who need help.  I feel like I may have a new found career goal thanks to tonight’s class!”
